Paul Mulhall Managing Director commenced with a Contract Cleaning Business 1968. The first Event he was involved with was Holiday World 1969 and this expanded to a contract for the Cleaning of a Supermarket chain with responsibility for some 50 Supermarkets nationwide employing some 250 Personnel full and part time.

While this Company grew in strength and size Paul saw the opportunity to diversify into Carpet fitting and Carpet Tiles in particular which he supplied in the main to the Supermarket Trade and Shopping Centres at that time.

By the mid 1980s  a relatively new form of Marketing and Advertising was gaining popularity with the arrival of showcasing ones goods at various venues in Dublin. The RDS was the forerunner in this area hosting Exhibitions such as Showcase Ireland, The Catering Show, Futura Fair, Holiday World and of the course the Annual Spring Show at the time and the Annual Horse Show.

As a result of this Southside have been at the forefront of the Exhibition and Event Industry for over 30 years supplying and fitting carpet to Events and Exhibitions of all sizes from large Exhibitions and Conferences to Concerts, Award Presentations, Fashion Shows, Private Parties, Launches and Weddings. We also supply carpet and cleaning to Government Agencies such as the Garda Depot and our most prestigious house Aras an Uachtarain.

In 1982 Helen Hemp (LLB Hons.) joined Paul in the business with responsibility for the Finances and day to day Administration of the newly formed subsidiary Company Southside Contract and Carpet Cleaners Ltd. In 1988 she was appointed Financial Director and in the same year Noelle Murphy joined the Company as Office Manager.

Indeed it is Noelle who is the first point of contact at our office and she will very ably and confidently advise all possible Clients on what suits best for any Event or Exhibition as regards availability of colours, price range and lead in times required for your particular Show.
